Autumn in Vermont
-
Autumn in Vermont - maples show color early - orange, yellow and red. These colors are joined by the yellows of ash, and the greens, yellows and browns of beech - all in the same tree! Finally oak leaves turn to sepia and maroon adding to the display.
When is color at its peak in Vermont? It varies from year to year and is dependent on elevation and local conditions. Last year we actually saw wonderful reds in late September in the wet areas, with yellow appearing on the hills. Color can be found throughout most of October at different elevations in Southern Vermont. The highest and wettest points changing first. Bring your camera and be prepared to be wowed.
