Winter lodging in Southern Vermont: The Vermont mountains have been attracting travelers for generations. Snow covers the trails and ice covers the lakes. The VAST trail system is a network of trails for snowmobiles. You can park and ride to the system from the Candlelight. If cross country skiing is your pleasure, we are four miles from the Catamount cross country trail system and eleven miles from Prospect Mountain In Woodford a mountain devoted to cross country skiing.
Our closest mountain is Mount Snow, open for skiing, snowboarding and tubing. (We are 13 miles from the mountain.)
After a day playing in the snow, there are many fine restaurants and pubs to refresh one's spirit. Then retreat to the Candlelight to sit by a warm fire in the parlor or in your room and make plans for tomorrow or tune your skis in the heated workshop.
